The Origins

Migaso’s parents run away from poverty and they emigrate to France looking for a job. Migaso is bound to grow up in the Calabrian sun.  He’ll take the first steps in the cold and gloomy suburbs of Paris.

And here they are the first clashes among different cultures, and the first fights, too. At home they speak Italian, they eat Italian food and they wear Italian clothes. At school his friends call him “Le rital”, and Migaso welcomes his nickname but be careful, don’t dare to be disrespectful to his family and his origins, because Migaso is already a little man with firm principles.

He finds a way to express himself in the football fields and he shows with proud the blue T-shirt  of his team. Migaso is a football virtuoso but he has a preference for law and economics; nevertheless he lacks something..

The first experiences, the first meetings, and the first disappointments, too. From hurting sorrows an inner rage comes up against this wild world, where men and women forget the essence in favour of frivolousness. Migaso would like to scream and shout his anger but he doesn’t have the right means yet to express it fully. He’ll find them after the breaking of his ligaments and the withdrawal from the football fields…. Migaso must fall into an abyss and come back to life. The convalescence is painful; Migaso’s body and soul is deeply wounded; he drops out of school and leave his friends to withdraw into himself.

He’s at death’s door when his eyes suddenly see a guitar; he takes it in his hands and he starts playing. The revelation has come to light. The guitar that has changed his life will never leave him. They learn to know each other slowly; he can’t read a note of music but it’ll become his obsession, he plays the guitar up to eight hours everyday. He learns to play it by himself, playing restlessly his favourite pieces.
And here they come, his first musical meetings; Migaso discovers his models: Satriani, Santana, Vaughan e Hendrix. It’s still a long way but it’s easy. Migaso has come to life again..

In the end the wolf comes out of his lair. Migaso is a self- made musician, he needs to make contact with other musicians to improve himself see and learn. Paris is like Heaven: there all kind of music and style meet each other and mix up; from Blues to hip hop, the oriental zithers and the African bongos. Migaso takes part in all the Jam Sessions in order to create his own style. After several meetings he has now all the means to express his feelings. He is at the same time the author, the composer and the interpreter of his songs: they are the mirror of his soul, his joys and sorrows. His music is the mirror of his Italian origins, the very beginning of his Blues and Rock music, the cultural and musical mixture of all the nights spent in Paris.

The Symbol

Migaso has chosen a black and white chimera as a symbol, where the attentive eye finds again the wise mystic dragon, the straight and lonely wolf howling his sorrows to the moon. These symbols associated with the style of the creator, “Toabe”, illustrate the black and white contrast all the values brought by this new musical trend full of different styles.
